Obituary of Harold Dean Cunningham

Manchester, Tennessee – Mr. Harold Dean Cunningham, age 88, of Manchester, TN, passed from this life to the next and went Home to be with Jesus on Monday, April 24, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Cunningham was born in Kenna, WV, to his late parents Selba Cunningham and Mae Ranson Cunningham. He served his country in the United States Air Force for 20 years, retiring as a Master Sergeant. While in the Air Force, he served as a mechanic and instrument technician and was involved with some Apollo missions as well as the Cuban Missile Crisis. In his free time, he enjoyed square dancing and bowling. He was a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Manchester and did a lot for them, using his mechanic skills for repairs around the church. Mr. Cunningham was a founding member of the Lion’s Club of Hillsboro and was a member of the American Legion in Manchester serving in many capacities over the years. He was also a charter member of the World War II Museum in New Orleans, LA. Mr. Cunningham was the patriarch, spiritual leader, and moral compass of the family. He was revered and loved immensely. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Docia Frances Green Cunningham; son, Gary Cunningham; several brothers and sisters. Mr. Cunningham is survived by his wife of 7 years, Jeanne Cunningham; sons, James (Robin) Cunningham and Larry Cunningham; daughters, Laura (Scott) Moscati and Debbie (Ryan) Camardelle; several cousins, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be held Wednesday, April 26, 2023, from 12:00pm noon until 2:00pm at Central Funeral Home in Manchester, TN. Funeral services will be conducted immediately following visitation at 2:00pm in the chapel of Central Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Tullahoma, TN.
