i am sure it was Joyce...
in the sky this morning,
i saw Grandmother
having a conversation with Jesus.
i stared in disbelief,
and then she said,
“tell my family not to worry
i am Standing on the Promises
walking without need for a wheelchair
i am happy in my new life with Christ
Grandaddy is here and when we hug
our arms move through eternity
and touch angles wings
you’ll be here soon enough so don’t hurry to us
but hurry back to the work where you are
tell my sons I can hear them singing
and I am holding hands with God”
I listened intently
for her voice to never end,
and then Smudge, one of our cats,
pawed me on the hip. i must have jumped five feet.
i am sure it was Joyce.
