Morrison, Tennessee – Mr. Jerry Thomas “Tom” Elam, 77, passed away Saturday September 21, 2019 at McArthur Manor Assisted Living in Manchester, Tennessee. He was born in Coffee County on November 4, 1941 to Harvey Albert and Beulah Marie Toliver Elam who preceded him in death along with his sister, Marion Elam; brothers, Gordon K., Glenis E. and James Donald Elam.
He was a US Army veteran and a member of the New Union Church of Christ. He was a cattle and row crop farmer.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Shirley Anderson Elam; son, Brent Thomas (Dana) Elam, Manchester; brother, Ralph A. (Elaine) Elam, Manchester; sisters, June (Ewin) Davis, Manchester and Doris Hamann, Morrison; grandchildren, Megan and Alison Elam; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday in the Central Funeral Home chapel with Minister Charles Williams officiating with burial to follow in the Hopewell Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation: 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM Monday and 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM Tuesday at Central Funeral Home, Manchester, Tennessee. www.centralfuneralhome.com
