Obituary of Joe Brassfield

Estill Springs, Tennessee - Mr. Joe Theo Brassfield, age 82, of Estill Springs, TN, passed from this life on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at his residence. Mr. Brassfield was born in Viola, TN, to his late parents Speaker Woodrow Brassfield and Fannie Eliza Ikard Brassfield. He was a surveyor and bridge inspector for the state of Tennessee for many years. Mr. Brassfield was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, coach, and mentor. He very much loved his family and friends. Mr. Brassfield loved UT Football, hunting, gardening, and being outdoors. Mr. Brassfield was described as a humble, honest, giving, hard working person and was a God fearing man. He was a member of Prairie Plains Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Carolyn Juanita Brassfield and Regina “Cookie” Dargan Bradley Brassfield. Mr. Brassfield is survived by his sons, William Allen (Tammy) Brassfield, Joe Lee (Kim) Brassfield, Jason Scot (Jill) Brassfied; daughter, Kristie Michelle (Steve) Brassfield Holt; step-sons, Michael Edward (Julie) Giffin and Steven Craig (Amy) Giffin; 16 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Central Funeral Home in Manchester, TN. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, December 9, 2021, at 1:00pm in the chapel of Central Funeral Home with Billy Robison officiating.
